At the beginning of the month, on April 1st, Professor Alaí Reyes-Santos sat down with Brendan O’Meara, host of LTE, a podcast brought to you by The Register Guard's Opinion Page, to have a frank conversation. Comprehensive and meditative, her dialogue encompasses the scope of her work regarding community outreach and faciliating access to higher education for students, and by association, their families, that typically would not be able to obtain access to these opportunities. Pursuing the multifaceted goal of making students' desires for degrees and the furthering of their formal educations, at a higher level, attainable through lowering the cost of education. The historical role of racial discrimination in Oregon's "backdrop" is touched upon and analyzed in a candid discourse between openminded scholars and voices for change.
